2007 Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

2007 Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon
The superb 2007 vintage in Margaret River shows in the concentrated flavours and excellent structure of this wine.

It shows fragrant blackcurrant fruit and cedary complexity from maturation for two years in French oak. The intense flavours are framed by a stylish, yet firm tannin structure which will help the wine develop in bottle until at least 2015, while having the balance to drink well now.

Excellent with red meats, in particular lamb.

Background

The growing season leading to the 2007 vintage was close to perfect – warm and dry, a welcome change from the previous year. The vintage started very early and proceeded without problems.

The grapes were grown in the Carbunup subregion of Margaret River. The wine was matured in French oak barriques for 2 years, 30% new and the balance older barrels. The superb 2007 vintage in Margaret River shows in the concentrated flavours and excellent structure of this wine.
