Background

Capel Vale is a pioneer within Western Australia and amongst the first to be established with vines planted in 1974. The initial winery was built on the Stirling Estate in Capel in 1979 followed shortly thereafter with the first vintage in 1980.

Today, Capel Vale is still family owned and managed. Capel Vale is a fully integrated wine business from vineyard to bottle. It operates one of the most highly certified contract bottling plants in the country.

Nick Bulleid's Tasting Note

Colour
Youthful, deep purple-red colour.

Nose
Intense nose, showing red fruits, spices and hints of black pepper.

Structure / Palate
Supple, medium bodied palate with good depth of spicy flavour. Excellent overall balance and fine tannins on the finish.

This wine is typical of the elegant, spice-flavoured Shiraz wines from the cooler parts of Western Australia. It’s fully ready for drinking and best enjoyed over the next year or two. Delicious with pasta and al fresco red meat dishes.
