Background

This Chardonnay is sourced from vineyards in the southwest of Western Australia, in the Geographe, Blackwood Valley and Margaret River regions.

2008 was an excellent vintage, with a mild, dry growing season. Optimum ripeness was achieved in early March. It was Machine harvested, fermented dry, filtered, cold stabilised and bottled without the influence of oak.

Nick Bulleid's Tasting Note

Colour
Pale, bright yellow-green colour.

Nose
Intense white peach on the nose with hints of honeydew melon.

Structure / Palate
Full, ripe fruit flavours in a medium bodied, supple palate.

This West Australian wine shows more character than you would expect of an unoaked wine. It has typical Margaret River generosity, yet is fresh and not weighty. Excellent drinking over the coming year.
