Tasting Note by Nick Bulleid MW
Background

The growing season was warm and dry following a winter which had rainfall returning to long term average levels. The 2011 vintage began with a rush in early March. White varietals showed good acid retention, and excellent intensity and spectrum of flavours. In particular the season has been ideal for the chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and semillon. The wines are exquisitely balanced with naturally integrated acid, ripe flavour and good concentration. Some would say the 2011 vintage is the best Margaret River ever...!

Tasting Notes
BackVintage has individually blended this wine to combine the complexity from barrel-fermentation with the fresh fruit from a small, tank-fermented portion. It shows honeydew melon and white peach fragrance, with subtle, nutty and savoury overtones and texture from French oak. Try it with flavoursome seafood or chicken dishes. It will gain further richness and complexity into 2013.
