Nick Bulleid is Australia's third Master of Wine. He is also one of only 15 in Australia. Nick has been retained by BackVintage Wines Australia to independently evaluate and recommend our range of wine.
Formerly of Southcorp Wines, Nick is now an independent consultant, advising many companies on wine quality issues.
He has judged at the Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Hobart wine shows, the Sydney International Wine Competition and many regional shows. He is also Chairman of Judges of the New South Wales Wine Awards and has judged several shows internationally.
He currently chairs the Wine Show Committee of the Australian Society for Viticulture and Oenology, which is seeking a national approach to improving wine shows.
Nick is currently a Visiting Professor at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, where he teaches wine evaluation in the School of Wine and Food Sciences. He also writes for technical wine industry journals and for consumers.
Nick lives with his wife Susan and two young sons. He believes he has too many interests for his, or their, own good, including coaxing his pinot noir to ripeness, music – in particular singing – trout fishing, wood-working, various sports, gardening and cooking.
