Wine Selection
Kooyonga Chapel, located south of Benalla in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, is a small winery owned and operated by the Saunders family.
The mild climate extends the ripening period and adds to the complexity and intensity of flavour in the grapes. This wine is only 13.4% alc/vol and a very good example of a small parcel of high quality cool climate red wine.
Selected and independently endorsed by Nick Bulleid MW, this wine was produced from just a 4 acre block. It is a mature, elegantly styled Cabernet Sauvignon.
At just $9.99 for an aged red, we have found yet another bargain!

The superb 2007 vintage in Margaret River shows in the concentrated flavours and excellent structure of this wine.
It shows fragrant blackcurrant fruit and cedary complexity from maturation for two years in French oak. The intense flavours are framed by a stylish, yet firm tannin structure which will help the wine develop in bottle until at least 2015, while having the balance to drink well now.
Excellent with red meats, in particular lamb.

Meeting Ground is the creation of innovative winemaker Jodie Opie, the former Chief winemaker of Xanadu.
The 2008 vintage in Margaret River is being compared to the classic 2001 and 2004 vintages. This is as good as it gets in Margaret River due to the evenness and mild ripening season for both reds and whites. The 2008 vintage wines will cellar well with flavours being both balanced yet intense.
Similar style to our previous BackVintage Margaret River Cab Merlot, it represents very good value at only $12.99 per bottle.

...A world away from a Rhone syrah, this spicy Barossa Shiraz shows why red wines from this region are so highly prized.
This Shiraz combines the sweet-fruit aromas of the Valley floor with the black pepper perfume of Eden Valley. The palate is medium bodied, with intense, black cherry flavour and hints of spice. It finishes with fine, balanced tannin. This wine is fully ready to enjoy now, as its balance is so good. It will develop further complexity past 2013. Enjoy it with red meat dishes and pasta.
Matched perfectly with roast fennel sausages.
