2006 Kooyonga Chapel Cabernet Sauvignon
2006 Kooyonga Chapel Cabernet Sauvignon

Kooyonga Chapel, located south of Benalla in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, is a small winery owned and operated by the Saunders family.

The mild climate extends the ripening period and adds to the complexity and intensity of flavour in the grapes. This wine is only 13.4% alc/vol and a very good example of a small parcel of high quality cool climate red wine.

Selected and independently endorsed by Nick Bulleid MW, this wine was produced from just a 4 acre block. It is a mature, elegantly styled Cabernet Sauvignon.

At just $9.99 for an aged red, we have found yet another bargain!

2008 Meeting Ground Margaret River Cabernet Merlot
2008 Meeting Ground Margaret River Cabernet Merlot

Meeting Ground is the creation of innovative winemaker Jodie Opie, the former Chief winemaker of Xanadu.

The 2008 vintage in Margaret River is being compared to the classic 2001 and 2004 vintages. This is as good as it gets in Margaret River due to the evenness and mild ripening season for both reds and whites. The 2008 vintage wines will cellar well with flavours being both balanced yet intense.

Similar style to our previous BackVintage Margaret River Cab Merlot, it represents very good value at only $12.99 per bottle.

2010 Alexia Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc
2010 Alexia Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc

This vibrant, aromatic wine has flavours of gooseberry and limes, with a lively finish. We love to drink it with seafood and pasta dishes and delicious summer salads.  Unabashedly NZ in style, with gooseberry, ripe capsicum and passionfruit aromas and a fresh vibrant palate.

As Nick says: "This is a full-flavoured, soft example of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It’s excellent with seafood dishes and salads, or simply by itself. Enjoy it over the next six months while it’s fresh and delicious."

2010 La Ronciere (Chile) Chaku Merlot
2010 La Ronciere (Chile) Chaku Merlot

This smart, dry red jumped out during our recent tastings of a number of South American wines. All hand picked fruit and partly aged over 4 months in Frenck oak, it is food friendly, particularly with red meat dishes and cheeses. To fully enjoy this wine we have found it really 'opens up' after several hours of being opened.

A little drier than its Aussie equivalent (more like a fruit-forward Malbec in style) and made to be enjoyed immediately. Alcohol is a lean 13.5%.

From Chile - renowned for its extremely favourable growing conditions, it is medium bodied and very expressive in the mouth, with gentle tannins. ONLY 24 CASES remaining!
