Many school, sailing & rowing friends have asked
"How can we help?'
The Shore Year 9 & Year 12 Dads have arranged a benefit Golf Day and Dinner at Cromer Golf Course on Tuesday Nov 18th. This benefit will help with Adrian's future lifetime medical expenses & as a show of support for Adrian.

Only a couple of days to go until Adrian's fundraising dinner and golf afternoon (next Tuesday).
We have received tremendous support by way of donations for the day.
Everyone has been so very generous. Thank you.
FS
Cactus Imaging has donated a $20,000 creative & advertising package at Sydney Airport.
FS
Qantas has donated 2 return business class tickets to Beijing.
FS
Hole sponsors include the Knoll Group, Wolseley Private Equity, Audi, Rhinorack, Frost & Sullivan, Lockley Land Titles Solutions, &
BackVintage Wines Australia.
We have listed all sponsors below, without their generosity this event would not be possible.

We are pleased to confirm Ray Martin as MC for the evening.
Shane Lee and Stephen Henschke will also be speaking.
Stephen has donated (from his personal cellar), an Imperial
(6L) bottle of Hill of Grace
    .
We need to finalise numbers for the catering and golf.
Partners are very welcome.
If you are able to join us, please contact
Derek Nix as soon as possible!

During the afternoon of April 21, a 14 year old, Year 9 boy from SHORE was hit 3 times across the face by a propeller in Refuge Bay.

  • His left cheek-bone was crushed and severed in two, his left eye socket was damaged and the left cheek severely lacerated.
  • The propeller sliced his nose and upper lip in half.
  • His right cheek & eye-lids were severely lacerated.
  • In his right eye, the cornea, lens, iris & pupil, and drainage structures have all been permanently damaged.
He has had three operations to date.  When he is fully grown, he will need a cataract lens replacement & full nose reconstruction.  More plastic surgery is planned for his upper lip, tear ducts and nose year. The very fine mesh ducts which balance pressure within the eye have been severely damaged.  Plastic surgery on these ducts is only just being developed today – hopefully this can be fixed - until then, he requires eye medication every day.... and a visit to an ophthalmic specialists every 6-8 weeks for the rest of his life

Despite all this he still came 3rd in his maths class during Term 2... !!!!

Propeller Safety
47,000 outboards are imported into Aust every year (source ABS)...
..... not one of them comes with a guard as a standard part.

If you have children on the water, contemplate purchasing a prop guard...
for their safety and your peace of mind.
Midcoast Marine has already helped a few friends of mine.
