The latest vintage of one of our favourites is again organically grown. The Sauvignon blanc (80%) was harvested on four separate days to gain a greater range of flavours, while the balance of Semillon was selected from the middle 16 rows of the block that are best suited to this wine.
ColourPale green-yellow.
NoseFresh and intense, showing gooseberry, passionfruit and a hint of grassiness
Structure / PalateLight to medium bodied with fresh, delicate gooseberry and kiwifruit flavours and balanced acidity. Finishes fine and soft.
I’m impressed by how consistent this wine is. The 2017 is an excellent replacement for the 2016 and can be enjoyed in so many ways - with salads, delicate fish and seafood or simply by itself. It will be at its best through the coming summer and autumn.
James Halliday Wine Companion: "An 80/20% blend with textbook aromas and flavours of cut grass, kaffir lime and pea pods with passionfruit and guava. Bracingly fresh with lemony acidity screaming ahead to a decisive, crisp finish." 90 points. Drink to 2020
