Nick became Australia's third Master of Wine in 1992. It takes a minimum 5 years to complete the Master of Wine qualification (there are only 23 MWs in Australia). It is achieved through extensive examination and dissertation and is regarded within the wine industry as one of the highest standards of professional knowledge.

So ho hum I hear you say..."what really is a Master of Wine?"
It's an accreditation conceived by the Institute of Masters of Wine in 1953, there are currently 341 Masters of Wine, living in 25 different countries across five continents.

In June 2016, 96 individuals sat the MW exam globally - only eight passed!!
